NEW YORK CITY
For the past three years, teaching artists from 5 Corners Collective have partnered with the Josephine Herrick Project and the Jacob A. Riis Settlement House to teach photography to residents of the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City, a neighborhood in the borough of Queens in New York City. With over 7,000 residents, the Queensbridge Houses are the nation's largest public housing project. The Queensridge community has a rich and thriving culture. As teaching artists, our goal has been to connect in to that culture. We come together once a week as artists but also as peers, to catch up, share stories and make pictures.
